All,

Looking for a three bedroom (+) house or townhouse/condo within 30 min or so from NAS Pax River to rent for a couple of years. Been searching all the usual sights, just want to get the word out to those that might have a little gouge. Thanks in advance,

I own a 4 bed 2 bath house right off of base but it wont be available for rent until around next june or july. What time frame are you looking at?

Finding something within 30' of PAX is not difficult. Given the market, you all are prudent to rent. If you are planning on staying for a while, renting will give you a chance to figure things out around here as the real estate market is showing mixed signals right now. Sources of info:

A good friend of mine used to work at O'Brien Realty and I had no hesitation in recommending them for military renters. They have a group that is all they do. http://www.obrienrealtyonline.com/ I'm sure there are other reputable commercial landlord realty companies out there too.

You can also try the local online rag. Classifieds is the top left hand corner http://www.somd.com/

Also try the Base Housing office for the rental listings (nonPPV listings).

I live in base housing and PPV has been a good deal for us.

PM me if you have any particular questions or are looking for more specifics. Good luck.

True. Lots of choices. Militarybyowner worked well for me recently in Lexington Park.

Several nice apartment complex well within BAH. Still a large number of overpriced houses, but also some very good buys, I have seen price cuts up to 50%. My guess is that the market in Lex Park is 35% below peak in 2007.

Wow - finally found a place here (a nice, Key West Townhouse down near the Leonardtown Wharf). But wow, not a lot of quality properties to consider. I am thoroughly convinced we walked through one of Jeffrey Dahmer's summer homes - very scarey !!! Anywho, thanks for all the gouge and intel, I appreciate it !!!
