Those of you non-married types in API now and slated to go to Whiting: I've got two rooms that will be available in a 1500sqft 3BR/2BA house on 1/3 acre in Milton on 19 December.
Location: "Hawk's Nest" subdivision in Milton, right next to Whiting Pines, and a 12min drive to the base.
Rent: 400+ utils (approx 50/person)
Other: 2 car garage and attic for storage, and a screened-in porch. In addition, the owner is leaving behind a few things, including the washer and dryer, a 5-spkr surround sound system, and a gas grill.
The subdivision is very nice and quiet, and it's a much better option than a sketchy apartment for probably the same price. The owner is a recently-winged CG pilot, and is very accommodating to the flight student's needs. I've got a month-to-month lease on the place, and the same will be offered to whoever takes the other two spots.
I don't have much stuff to put in the house, so if you've got a couch or coffee table, there will probably be space for it.
