Yea Id have to agree with that. I was beside myself wondering how hard the test would be. I thought that every other person who had taken the test here on this Forum was super smart, and that Id be that guy who failed. its not hard at all. I admit I could have done better- but its like getting your drivers licence- it does not matter how good your score is- so long as you pass, your good. I'm not sure about this, but I'm of the opinion that the Marine study guide is talked up some. See, My OSO gave me the Marine study guide, and it was all stuff I had seen in the ARCO. Being a Marine, I am a little biast- but I believe that the reson that people think that Marines have better study guides and do so well is not because of better gouge, but rather that they have gone threw so much more training before they get to flight school. The benifits are obvious. Just an opinion. Samper Fi.

I'd have to agree that the ASTB is not as hard as I thought it would be, but having the USMC study guide is a definite advantage. The test has two different forms and I'm not sure if I took form 1 or 2, but it was almost word for word with the study guide. The ARCO books are great, but in my opinion they are a little more general than most people are looking for. I found them to be about as helpful as an SAT/ACT prep. I'm sure we could debate the usefulness of the USMC gouge all day, but I would have to say that it is an advantage. One problem, the file is too big for a hotmail account so you'll need to give me another address to send it to. One more thing, (I may be a little biased as well) say what you want about the advantages of USMC gouge, but the Navy isn't floating around any study guides. Maybe Jarheads need a little extra help? Kidding of course...........Hope Frumby doesn't read this.
