Looking for a house to rent in Gulf Breeze or Navarre starting in June

Airwarriors,

The thread title pretty much says it all. Need at least a 3 bedroom, but would prefer a 4 bedroom. I don't have any pets, just two rugrats. Our goal is to get as close to P'Cola Beach or Navarre Beach as possible. Back gate of NASP won't work for us. My wife is a clean freak so we will keep the place looking good. Pool is a plus. Looking for a 1 year lease but will do longer if the price is right. I am not a student so we will be in the area for a long time.

I hope you find a great rental. This comment is not directed at you sir. I just don't get why some landlords deem pets to be worse wear and tear on a rental than kids. I don't have any kids but I know for a fact that they shit and puke on carpets just like pets can. Everything I have seen my dogs do I have seen a kid do as well. (Like dig a hole in the backyard). Only my pets don't color on walls...end rant.

Navarre? That's one hell of a daily haul unless you're going to Hurlburt. I'm almost certain that there's PLENTY of property available along highway 98 between Pensacola and Ft Walton Beach. I just drove through there today and there are a LOT of empty commercial buildings so I can only imagine how many residential properties are available for sale and rent back through the neighborhoods there.

If you're going to be instructing at Whiting I would not recommend Gulf Breeze unless $7 a day in tolls appeals to you.

I know guys, I know, but the wife wants to be close to the beach. The more I'm looking at it, I figure I'll have to be in Gulf Breeze Proper. Then I can take scenic Hwy right? It's still gonna be about 45 minutes. Tell me if you disagree.

Navarre or Holley lets you be down where your wife wants and gets you up to Milton via Hwy 87 without having to swing all the way through Pensacola or paying the toll. You won't be dealing with much traffic on 87 like you would on 98 and 90 unless you count bears and it's shorter.

Wives hold a certain amount of leverage, I can't argue that. But YOU are the one who will be making the 90min round trip every day. I've done the 45min commute thing before and it wears on you after a while, not to mention the gas. Then again some folks don't mind it

Forget about the tolls, both the Pensacola Beach bridge and the Garcon Point bridge have yearly passes that are pretty cheap. I live on Pensacola beach and my commute is usually around 40-45 minutes, it can extend to an hour or more if Gulf Breeze high/middle school are letting out and/or its during rush hour, but its usually not all that bad. The west side of Gulf breeze would easily be a 35-40 minute commute at most on most days and there wouldn't be any tolls involved. There's an HT-18 instructor that is renting his house in Gulf Breeze with a boat lift and on the canal. All in all living in Gulf breeze or even P-cola beach takes roughly 10-15 minutes more to commute to work than living in Pace. And the QOL is soooo much better.
