Lodging near Little Creek

I'm coming up to Little Creek for TACP school this weekend. I timed my call to the BOQ perfectly, no availability for three days - no partial reservations for people on orders. So that means I'm staying out in town! WOO HOO! I'm asking for guys that are stationed up that way (or have been in the past) for places to call that are close to Little Creek. I looked on a map, but I don't want to be stuck fighting Norfolk traffic, what's right outside the gate that's nice?

Stay on Chick's Beach. There are a bunch of hotels right on the water. If anyone knows specifics, holler back. That will be sure to keep you off of the highways.

Lots of hotels at Lake Wright, about 5 minutes from gate 5.

i stayed at that place when i checked in here...nice place with a golf course and they took pets. there are tons of motels (notice i said motel) on ocean view where little creek is getting closer to NS Norfolk. and a little farther down the opposite way you get into virginia beach and then they become hotels. the hotels at lake wright give you the per diem rate and if you 're a AAA member it gets cheaper. still i'd check the navy lodge on little creek. they always say they're full then when you get there they have an opening for 10 days or something.

Cape Henry Inn

I took a class at Little Creek and couldn't stay at the BOQ. However, I did find a sweet deal at the Cape Henry Inn on Ft Story. It's a quick cab ride to Hot Tuna, Shore Break, etc.
