Hey has anyone seen that new simulator coming out for the pc soon. I hear its as close as it comes to flying real fighter jets, and I think you will believe it too if u look into it.(after they have been working on it for 5 years it better be). I have even read on a game informer that the Air Force is going to use it as a recruiting tool and may use it as a basic training tool too. If thats the case, this simulator will be awesome. I hope it gives a challenge because I want something hard so someday when I get into the pilot programe hopefully training will be a lot easier.

check it out here..www.lo-mac.com

The Air Force already has a great tool for basic training. We call it the Mission Orientation Program, or MOP for short. The MOP is a great tool for training young airmen for productive military careers. Also, during basic training, our trainees learn how to use a Basic Removal Of Objects Mechanism. The BROOM, as it is known, is a great aid to our young basics, and helps instill the core values in them.

Why there is no LOL face on this board, I do not know, but I was definitely laughing out loud! Good one Dupe.

Looks like a cool game! It says you can do carrier landings too! I've got Falcon 4.0 (haven't played it since started training) but it's a lot of fun too. My computer would puke its guts out if I tried playing that LOMAC game.

IRONMIKE....give us a break, please. Quit acting like a 30 year old IP.

how am i acting like a 30 year old IP? I just thought i should bring it up because I thought it looks like a cool simulator, and wanted to see if anyone has heard anything else about it.

That's just ludicrous...right, IronMike??? Just kidding, couldn't resist. It does look pretty cool. It will never be able to eclipse the best and most realistic simulator ever...Top Gun for your NES! I heard that if you can land on that game, then you could land on a carrier at night with your eyes closed =)

Funny stuff, guys. Seriously though, get Microsoft Flight Simulator, there's alot you can learn about instruments from that sim.

Only a 30 year old IP or a ten year old would be so naive.

I cant wait to try out Lo-mac...but i wouldn't seriously think it would help you get through flight school. Sims are fun, but you're not going to learn THAT much from them despite what all the crazy falcon4.0 junkies think.

Ditto on what DBLang said. Save some cash, go down to your nearest FBO and get started for real. Besides it's more fun anyway.

I checked out the preview which is nice eye candy but they look like all pre-rendered shots so you know the game isn't going to look near as good as these vids. Let's hope with the very few aircraft choices that you get, they took the time to model the textures and physics correctly.

well i DONT think it would "get me through flight school" but i do think it would give me a good start. Just learning the basics. It wouldnt hurt. I have almost all my hours in to get my private pilots liscense very soon, and i have owned Microsoft Flight Simulator, and thats insanly close to the real thing. Despite what Lomac says though, i guess you are all right. I kinda find it hard to believe too that a bunch of game designers know how an F-15 or A-10 flies, and that its just a bunch of bs so they can sell the game.
