LAV MOS?

I was looking at a list of different MOS, and I didn't see a Light Armored Vehicle MOS. Is this because LAV is included in the Armor MOS?

Any info about that question, and about being a Marine operating LAV would be helpful, thanks.

LAV billets come out of infantry officer billets. A certain number from each Infantry Officer Course (IOC) goes off to become Light Armored Recon platoon commanders, i.e LAV's. The rest become infantry platoon commanders, a few may become weapons plaoon commanders.

It does have it's own MOS given to officers who complete the LAV course (after IOC). Everything Qball says is right on. I hear that often times they (infantry officers) can compete for LAV school and LAV MOS after their first infantry platoon commander gig.

You are considered pretty lucky to get it out of IOC. Just what I hear. .
