Hey just a quick question for the salty gold wingers out there, does anyone know a good kneeboard that will last for a career!?!? I heard about one through London Bridge Trading Company($100), and I am currently starting RI's in Primary and would prefer to buy ONE kneeboard for at least the next few years. Any help or advice would be fabulous. Thanks in advance!!

I used a 9G in primary... liked it. I dont use a kneeboard anymore... like that even better. Appearently the issued one works well for the helo guys. Bottom line I wouldnt go dropping $100 on something u might only use for the next few months... If u select jets- er tailhook and thats what works well there (which ive heard it does) then get it.

I sh!tcanned the issue one pretty quickly. That thing is way too massive. The 9-G or 9-G Plus are outstanding, and I am, actually was, a helo guy.

Use the 9G kneeboard. I have had the same one since NFO advanced, through my fleet squadron, and pilot Primary. Here is a tip. Take a blue brains page, cut it to fit underneath the clear plastic of your kneeboard. This will prevent whatever kneeboard card you keep under there from transferring ink to the actual kneeboard plastic.

I just replaced my 9 G with another 9 g after 10 years of use, if you get to Korea you can get one at Royal Bag for about 5 bucks and it is actually a pretty good kneeboard.

I've got one of those from Royal Bag. I love it, it lasted me through the RAG and fleet squadron without a hitch.

I'm still using my issued one. Lots of people at my last squadron still use theirs also.

I have a 9G and recently gave it up in favor of the issued one. Just a matter of personal preference.

I've got big legs so the stock one put my hand too far up the stick in the -34 than what I liked, so I used the 9G. We'll see about the -57, but I imagine it'll be similar.

See mine was the opposite. I needed to "pad" the 9G with an IFR Supp in order for it to be high enough.

I used the issued one until I got to my fleet squadron. then I switched to just the 9g. it's really a matter of comfort for you. I traded out just because I was tired of the big clunker.

I've been using the same 9G Plus since primary. It's outstanding. My only issue came when one of the plastic paper-grabber device located on the metal flip down bar came off. I simply wrapped some electrical tape around the area to the point where it was the same size as the previous plastic piece. It works like a champ.
