Update:
Just got my internet back. Power was restored on Thursday. Most of Meridian is now back to relative normal. There are still parts out of power and screwed up by downed trees, but for the most part, businesses are open, gas stations are open (most of the time), restaurants are serving food, and the mall was busy. Many people had trees land on their houses, sometimes with severe damage. Gas prices aren't horrendous here yet. I paid $2.69/gallon yesterday. Meridian is recovering very nicely.
NAS Meridian and the surrounding area is turning into a relief center headquarters. The population has already noticeably exploded here, on base and in town. This boring city has become very important in the recovery effort.
Bunky, if you end up flying your C-2s here, let us Meridianites know.
