I just got back from the June 2nd Aces. It was a blast! I strongly suggest attending if you are given the opportunity. I won't waste my time with all the details (I pasted the schedule below), but I do have some advice: 1) do attend, it is a great time and a great way to see what you are about to experience. 2) don't expect anyone to know who you are or what ACEs is. 3) you will wear flight suits, but it is hot in June. I'd rather be comfortable than look cool any day. 4) since you are wearing "bags" expect to be stared at and lit into at least once for not saluting or wearing cover 5) Some people will get NPQ'd. We had 3 out of 15 get the "NAMI whammy". There is nothing you can do other than drink lots of water and relax. 6) ask questions and enjoy yourself. this is a vacation, but also a learning experience. Everyone was extremely friendly once they figured out who we were. VT-2's students were some of the coolest people I've ever met and talked to us about anything and everything. Oh yeah, 7) be on time! If someone tells you to be ready to leave at 0600 for Pete's sake at least be awake. We had so many guys sleeping in, hung-over, draggin' ass, I thought I was going to kill one those 20 year old punks. It was embarassing to me and disrespectful to the staff. Sorry, just a pet-peve. Did I spell that right? Like I said, try to attend if possible. Anyways, if you have questions e mail me and I'll try to answer them.

Here's the schedule:

Yeah, we even finally found out what ACES stands for. Aviation Candidate Entrance Screening, or something like that anyway.
