I was reading Popular Mechanics and saw this article (http://popularmechanics.com/science/military/2003/4/battle_island/). I wanted to see what you guys/gals have to say about this. Is this really feasible? It looks really cool and logical on paper, but is there a chance that this will get financially ok'd and production will start? Just post your thoughts. I just wanted to make sure everyone knew about it. Later.

Sounds like an Air Force plea to stay in the fight. Carriers and "Gators" serve the same purpose. Then again, if the Japanese can build an entire island to create a new, international airport, anything is possible. Sure wouldn't want to be on that thing with a Sea State of 3 or more. Frumby
