JERUSALEM (AP) - An Israeli helicopter attack in Gaza that killed two Palestinian militants was aimed at a man believed to have jubilantly displayed the severed head of an Israeli soldier two months ago, the army said Friday.

Hazem Rahim and another militant were killed late Thursday, partly fulfilling a pledge by the Israeli army chief to ``show no forgiveness'' to the men who gloated over the corpses of six Israeli soldiers last May and held their body parts for ransom.

The Israeli helicopter-launched missile pulverized a white Subaru as it drove through the crowded Zeitoun district of Gaza City.

The Islamic Jihad identified the victims as its members, and the Israeli army said Rahim was involved in the deadly May roadside bombing.

The May 11 attack shattered an armored personnel carrier transporting explosives, scattering the remains of the six soldiers over a 300-yard radius. Militants paraded through the streets with body parts and video footage flashed on Arab television showed two masked Islamic Jihad activists taking responsibility and displaying the head of an Israeli soldier on a table in front of them."

I greatly admire the Israelis for their no-BS approach to these bastards. I got a big kick out of their use of a Hellfire on a guy in a wheelchair! Sending out a hit squad to hunt down the '72 Olympics terrorists was another trademark move. There are only 2 ways to stop terrorists. One, give them what they want. Since they want a theocratic society, I hope we don't choose that route. THe other way is to kill them whereever they pop up. I choose option 2. Go after the leadership. Make them feel as if they can't even go to the can in safety, and they'll be too busy looking over their shoulders to be a effective threat.

Yeah, i'd say that was a pretty effective method of dealing with a few ill tempered sea bass. Too bad they had to waste a good subaru in the process!

The Mussad is zero-one every effective and definitely a no BS organization. They're also damn scary. I guess it would weaken our moral high ground approach to world affairs if we were to use their ruthless (read: effective) methods - not that it seems we've been maintaining that very well anyhow. But we'd need several presidents in a row with brass balls and i just don't see that happening.
