Man... I don't really know how to reply to that. I mean, this guy does a good job of showing the realities of war, but at the same time, it doesn't sound like he's in the right place to begin with. If you read some of the comments regarding his letter, there's one from an Army Capt. I thank God that we have young men and women that decide to serve our country, but I dont understand his comment about how "our parents" missed out on taking care of their young? Thanks for posting it though.

the roommate i had through college all four years is currently in Iraq. I rarely get an email but when he does he doesnt pout or portray himself as a big hero. he tells me of the daily mortar attacks he gets and of the people that are getting hurt and dying that he personally knows. It sucks because i'm here in a cozy training command and i think its tough here when its 100 times worse there. The thing that made me know that he's not really letting out everything he does over there was when he told me "Be glad that you're going to be able to kill people from the air because killing people face to face is just not worth it."

I don't really understand that comment either. My intentions were to post it about the reality of war as you stated. I don't think I personally take seriously enough the reality of what our marines are going through. Ironically, he is stationed at the same prison where all these allegations of prisoner abuse come out of. Thanks for the response.

Yea that last statement is kind of strange, but I understand where he is coming from when it comes to twomarro’s leaders. But great article!
