I know that NFO's are required to serve six years as per their initial contract agreement but does that time start the day you commission or after you get winged? If flight school takes close to two years then you potentially serve 8 years on your first contract.

There are much more qualified people to answer that question, but for NAs, I belive your commitment comes after you are winged, so I would assume the same for NFOs.

If you wing on August 31, 2009, then your service obligation expires Sep 1, 2015....It is from winging.
