Ask me about ninjas!
Anyone know a good place/website/etc where I can get new leather nametags? I'm in Corpus, and the NEX doesn't sell the damn things. And the civilian riggers laughed in my face when I asked them. Flightsuits.com doesn't sell the ones with just the Eagle, Globe and Anchor on them, and a google search yeilded nothing. Anyone have suggestions?

This should help.

https://www.nexnet.navy.mil/pls/nexauth/wg_shop_online

Click on "Navy Uniforms."Click on the "Ribbons, Medals & Insignia" tab and leather nametags should be on the very bottom. you could also call them. Cheers!

Dude ... do you know where the Vertex paraloft is? They'll make you the leather ones for FREE (up to four of them).

Trust me, I'd have the riggers make them for me if it would save me cash. The folks in the paraloft of both my squadrons when I was enlisted always took great care of us when it came to nametags.

Seems like I'm going to have to beat down the big ass corky-lookin' rigger in the t-34 paraloft (which is run by Vertex), because he's apparently too lazy to give me a straight answer.

Appreciate the help, though.

no.. NOT the T-34 paraloft

the one down at the end of the flight line by the SAR helos and the Customs birds... it's manned by Sikorsky people I think. THEY make the nametags. It's the same place that fits people for gear before d-jets.

I think it's Bldg 57 or 58. There are stairs on the side of the building going up to the loft. I just got mine from there a couple weeks ago. You just fill out the forms and credit it (bill it) to your squadron.

Thanks Squeeze ... it is the Sikorsky guys.

Including a map (I was not a Geography major, so it's not all that pretty, but it'll work). Not all the parking lots, are shown, but if you know where VT-31 and Base-Ops are you'll be ok.

Hmm... Maybe these Sikorsky folks would be easier to find if someone built me a terrain model and read me SMEAC? Anyway, thanks for all the input, but the situation's been resolved. Apparently, I wasn't the only one who was kind of pissed at the paraloft guy, because I just got a call from the squadron's Sr Marine who has rectified the problem. I think he mentioned something about tearing someone limb-from-limb, but I was sort of asleep when the phone rang.

That brings a tear to my eye I'm so happy. It is kind of nice to see people forced to do their job. If you end up in Helo land dont let them sell you a lip light those are issued gear and they should be providingthem for free!!!
