IFS eligibility

Does anyone know the eligibility for IFS? I have about 10 hours of flight time from just hanging out at a local airport when I was in college. Does anyone know if I would still be eligible considering I haven't soloed or even got my liscense. Thanks in advance

you're most likely eligible. they want to see not only solo time but solo cross country time as well.

Thanks for the reply! After OCS do you get to choose which airport you want to fly at being Destin or Eglin AFB? And also do you reieve flight pay for IFS?

you have to do IFS in the p-cola area... so either Eglin AFB, Destin, or Pensacola Aviation Club at Pensacola Regional. You don't get flight pay at IFS. And don't worry about IFS until after you arrive at API... otherwise "don't call us, we'll call you" ;-)

I thought IFS was before API...do you just mean you get your API flight physical prior to IFS?

yeah, I meant after OCS and when you report to API. ROTC might be different.

He means that you will check in to API and start mustering in A pool and once a week they will anounce who is starting IFS, API, and BOLTC on the following week. You must have completed BOLTC and IFS to class up for API if you are a pilot. As far as your physical that will be done either at OCS if you go through OCS or you will have to get it done when you check into API before you can do anything else that is required to be completed before classing up. Don't worry about this stuf too much though be cause you will get briefed on this stuff at OCS and again after Reporting to API.
