I HATE traffic; it's just wasted time and time is money

I will be doing primary in corpus. Is there a back gate to the base along Ocean Dr? If so are there certain hours it is open to traffic?

If there is a back gate, is it quicker to get to VT-27/VT-28 than the front gate?

I will strongly consider driving time to and from work when looking for a place to live.

The back gate is only open I think from 0600-0930 and 1430-1800. Its faster to take the SPID, there are several lights on Ocean Dr.

The back gate is closer to the VTs, but I don't know the hours, and I've been here since Dec. The only time the traffic at the main gate gets bad is 0530-0620 or so when all the CCAD guys go to work. It took me 15 mins to get through the gate on Thur morning. Other than that time frame, there's never any real backup at all.

And going to the gate on Ocean Dr really isn't a time saver, cause its out of the way from most of the living places in Corpus. I highly doubt you'll be living in one of those mansions on Ocean.

Traffic in corpus overall is not nearly as bad as pensacola. Live on the island and use the main gate - you will hit a maximum of three stop lgihts - and one is a right turn. Thefront gate never gets backed up except for maybe tghe time mentioned above - otherwise it is a 1-2 min wait on avg.

Trust me - compared to Pensacola ... you dont need to worry about anything here (for thje city, that is. the gate at p'cola was a bit faster)

I live at Compass Bay apts. on the Island. I suspect a good number of us STUDs live out here so I'm sure they can attest to the fact that the driving time to NASCC is pretty short. I deal with 1 traffic light and that's it. Usually a 7-10 min. drive in the morning and much easier than P-cola.

Snizo,
Great "classic" line in your sig dude :icon_tong

How i miss the short times to get to the Gate in NASCC...beats Whiting, beats P'cola and sure beats VA.
