My in-laws got a Sony DVD player for Christmas, but it doesn't work with their big screen TV, or at least with the basic yellow/white/red audio/video cable it comes with. Is anyone familiar with a similar problem like this...would buying the 'S-video cable' work instead like it does for PS-2?

And what friggin' TV's actually don't require you to buy more crap for your components to work?

Thanks

I know on my Big Screen, I have 3 inputs (2 in the back and one in front). There is a switch on the front of my TV that switches between the input from the one in the back to only one in the front....

If that's not the case...Make sure you goto AUX1 or AUX2. Is there a switch on the back othe player to switch the output from S-Video to RCA? Maybe you got a bum player...it happens.....Good luck!

At any rate, you will have better video quality with the S video cable than with the RCA (yellow) cable. Still need the red and white RCA cables for audio though.

Thanks guys...they figured it out before I could use ea's advice...I believe that you were correct though.

At any rate, much appreciated.
