If you've never been hog hunting you need to go if you get the chance. I wish I could have been on this hunt. Looks like it was a paid hunt but ferel hogs seem to be everywhere. Should be easy to find good hunting for you guys in P'cola and Corpus especially.

I have found that I'm not really willing to waste a good broadhead on a pig while bowhunting. So, if I'm in pig country, I'll carry one arrow with some old P.O.S. tip on it. If I'm rifle hunting, it's on.

I don't think much of pigs, if you couldn't tell.

Nice! Down at Eglin you can't bait and the season is VERY limited. I was walking around down there and did see tons of rootings(?). If that's what they're called. You know, when the pig uses it snout to dig up the earth.

Take Pugs with you. He sure knows where to aim.

Different aimpoints with a hog as opposed to a deer. With the way you shoot that M1A you should have no problem putting one right behind the ear. DRT. Better a spine shot than a heart shot. Lungs will work too but sometimes they will run a good ways before they bleed out. They bleed out in some nasty dark scary places if you are tracking them. How fast can you climb a tree?

Here's a hog anatomy chart. If you take a shot low behind the sholder like you might on a deer you could miss everything.
