Went through an MEB myself. The single greatest lesson I learned was that nobody cares more about what will happen to you than you do. Start digging into the applicable refs and get yourself smart, because you MAY be lucky enough to have a flight surgeon that's well-versed on the process, but probably not.

If you don't already have one, request that your flight surgeon set you up with a patient advocate at your Branch Health Clinic. They should be able to help you sort through the BUMED madness.
If you haven't already, start looking at lat-xfer options. Some communities have age limits. OCMs are your source for the best info on what each community is looking for, and what their numbers look like.
