I've seen one AMDO since I've been at OCS. That's only been ~11 weeks though, so take it for what it's worth.

That's about right. Keep in mind that AMDOs O-1 to O-7 only number 500 or so. AMO school only classes up 3 or 4 times a year, so they try to group them in OCS classes so that they won't stash long before going to AMO school (our class that started in January had guys that commissioned in Oct - Dec).

We had a guy roll in our class who was originally supposed to go to AMO school in January but instead went to the class in May, which clearly wasn't intended.

My husband's AMO...don't know much about wing or the difference between amo and amdo? But, I'm sure after AMO school and getting our feet wet we'll know soon enough. ((shrugs))

AMO School = Aviation Maintenance Officer School
AMDO = Aviation Maintenance Duty Officer

To make matters worse?

AMO = Assistant Maintenance Officer

Both Marine 6002s and Navy 1520s attend the AMO school in Whiting. However, the Marines call their AMO the AAMO (Assistant Aircraft Maintenance officer). It gets confusing because in the Navy, the Maintenance Officer is simply called the MO, but in the Marines it's the AMO (Aircraft Maintenance Officer), which may be confused with the Navy's AMO.

I'm not sure where I was going with all of this.

You are right. I am strictly a Sailor here. Done a few cruises with Marines, But our Officers were always Navy. I was totally thinking AMO Navy style... not Marines. Even though they are the same thing. :)

I dont know where I was going with this either. :)
