gym privileges for pro-rec??

Does anyone know if the base gyms will let you workout without a military ID because you haven't been to OCS yet? I have been pro-rec'd pilot, but haven't gotten my final select yet.
I am going to be visiting my boyfriend at NWS Charleston next week, but want to keep training for OCS at the gym. I am wondering if they will let me in without him (he's active duty).
Does anyone have any ideas?

Your Pro-rec means basically nothing in terms of military status. You don't have an ID card yet because you're not in the military. So the short answer is no, you don't have any priviledges.

That being said, most of the people who work on base gyms have been pretty cool in my experience, so they may let you use the facilities if you ask nicely and explain your situation. They're often civilians, so they may not know the difference.

Think of it this way, you're not entitled to work out there, but they may allow you to, their call.

I do know that the Exchange/Commissary has provisions in place for AD members to bring in guests that aren't normally entitled to priveleges. The gym may be the same. It's worth asking.

There is a civillian that is often at the gym that comes with her sister, brother in law, etc.. They "Escort" her.

Also, some bases let civilians get an "MWR Card" or join the Navy League and use the gym for a fee.
