Good Weapons Gouge?

I have never pickled once in my life, but I have heard about RAF Tornado pilots dropping a weapon called a Durandel on airfields.

What have you pickled in your life? Eggs?

Or, you can tell those tracom IP's you'd send some tracom jet studs down with some MK-76's and have free reign of the runway.

high drag mk-82's would be my guess..... talking out my ass....

I have never pickled once in my life, but I have heard about RAF Tornado pilots dropping a weapon called a Durandel on airfields. Its basically a runway mine the floats on a drag chute. Once impacting the runway the charge is delayed to penetrate into the concrete before detonating, and dropped in intervals along it could render it useless. Its released at relatively low altitudes, so it might work. Don't get your arss shot of at that altitude though.."Chaff, Chaff, Flare, Flare"..lol.

RAF Tornadoes used a weapon called JP.233 in Desert Storm that is especially designed for runway denial. It requires a low level delivery and spews out submunitions. I believe they lost a few Tornadoes in process...barrage fire is deadly down low. Give me 20K plus anyday.

Yep, that's the tactic and it's usually done at night (obviously) but with any type of warning, every snuffy in vicinity only has to begin barrage fire over the runway....doesn't sound like fun to me

Those crazy brits..but they love that extremely low level stuff...I stumbled across a pic a long time ago at an aviation bloopers page. It showed a RAF Jaguar with its ventral fin lower than a BMW's roof as it went by...awesome pic, but I can't find it anymore. However here is a good example of what I'm talking about.
