Going through the Citadel

Hello! I'm new to the forum, but from simply exploring other threads I've gotten most of my basic questions answered. I'm a high school senior, and I was recently accepted to The Citadel (waiting to hear back about the honors program). I applied for a NROTC scholarship, but regardless of whether I get the scholarship or not I'm doing NROTC. I plan to attend there in the fall, and then go on to be a Naval Aviator. I was just looking for any advice or things I should know about a path to aviation through the Citadel? Thanks.

I just graduated from The Citadel in May and am typing this from Pensacola now, so PM me if you have any specific questions. Definitely pursue the honors program; Dr. Rhodes is a tremendous resource. Since I did BDCP and avoided being drafted into the NROTC Unit, I'll not comment too much on it. It did appear to be very active compared to units across the country, but not quite as much as the Army unit on campus (they seemed to be doing something on the parade deck before dawn every day). Just study hard and remember that when it comes time for service selection, the Navy won't care that you were a first semester clerk.

You may have already seen these, but they provide a little background into the "fun" you can expect:
