Geo-bachelor & base housing

I'm currently in Guam and I'll be heading out to PAX River shortly for my next tour. My wife was already back in the states and decided to check out the housing situation. We really liked the military options but as with most things, there is a long wait list. We've been told by a few people here that if I Geo Bachelor then I could get on the list to receive a house as soon as I check out of housing on Guam. However, PAX housing is telling us that we won't be eligible until I actually show up. My plan was to pack-out in early December, go home for the holidays and hopefully get moved into a house, then go back to Guam alone as a geo bachelor until I detach in Feb. Is this possible or is PAX housing right?
