I have been out to the airport before and have seen this little thing flying around but have been unable to find it on the ground, until today. Homemade in, 1998, it's powered by a Honda car engine and the owner will take you up in the thing, if you're brave enough!:) I do have his contact information, PM me. BTW, look at the sticker in the back window of his car.;)

There was a guy who used to fly one of those whirlybirds around the Whittier/Yellow Springs area in a set of blaze orange coveralls when I was growing up on my great granddads spread. He say where he's from?

Very cool. I was at a neighbors party in Waldorf MD once and met a gent who had one that he had bought in the 60's. He flew it some then and put it away and was interested in flying it again but said the insurance was outrageous.

No, Brett he didn't say and I didn't ask, but there was a guy there up from, Texas, paying for a lesson when I interupted them. The guy has a "T" hangar here at Frederick, but from what he says, he goes all over the place, but I think his home base is here. He also had a few other "little creatures" in the hangar, could have been he was up in one of those when you saw him.

(BTW, saw WT yesterday, he sez to say hi!;))

That says it all.
I'd go up in this before I'd jump out of a perfectly good aircraft for no reason at all! :icon_wink
