Yeah, a long time ago, I found, on this board, either a pdf or a link that showed what Marine aviation was going to look life through like 2012...
If anyone has any idea where I might find this, do tell.
Thanks.
AVPlan (Apr2005)
things to note from this:
no Marines will be doing Hornet training at VFA-106 after FY 07, which goes along with the info I heard from IPs there that 106 will stop training legacy Hornet students and become a SH-only RAG. (pg 3-10)
transition plan for the MV-22, first fleet sqd in by the end of this FY - HMH-263, a -46 squadron (pg 5-3)
transition to AH-1Z/UH-1Y will begin FY08 (pg 5-9)
tac-air integration info (pg 6-3)
JSF will IOC in FY12, with VMA-211 transitioning first; first Hornet-to-JSF will be VMFA(AW)-121 in FY13 (pg 6-4)
Hornets & Harriers are loosing 2 aircraft per squadron, starting next FY (pg 6-4)
the Corps is banking on a EA version of the JSF, FY15 (pg 6-10)
besides the KC-130J, Harriers are the newest aircraft in the Corps inventory (pg 1-7)
some charts showing where Marine aircraft squadrons are located (pg 2-2 thru 2-7)
pilot manning for each platform, as of Jan05 (pg 3-2)
current ACIP & current foriegn exchange location for each platform (pg 3-3)
simulator upgrade information (pg 9-3 thru 9-11)
of course, most of this document is wishful thinking ...
more info about Marine Aviation can be found
