Hey everyone,

I have a question. There are a lot of sites out there to find a flight school in San Diego but I want personnal opinions. I want to start getting my ppl as soon as I collect all of the money. I know that you can get screwed easily and I was wondering if there is anyone in the San Diego area (or even farther up the coast) that has had any king of flight training that could face me in the right direction. Ant inout would be greatly appreciated. Thanks....

I'm not sure what kind of status someone in PLC is in as far as the military, but if you're considered to be on some kind of active/reserve status, you might be able to take advantage of the Navy flying club at NASNI which will be a bunch cheaper than if you go to one of the FBOs at Montgomery Field.

At the very least, I would call them, tell them your situation, and ask if you are eligible.

National Air College out of Montgomery field is awesome. I got my PPL there, and they offer a pretty expansive range of programs. There is also a big club called Gibbs right up towards the other end of the runway. They're very popular as well, and have slightly newer aircraft (many of them). Feel free to pm with questions.
