Flight Physical Overseas?

Does anyone know what to do if one is unable to get a flight physical while on an IA? I just found out that my PRT's doc is unable to do a flight physical and I wonder how that would affect (if at all) my flight pay. Does anyone know if there are waivers available if need be? Thanks!

kmac,

I don't know the answer but we have guys gone from here on IA all the time. I know some have missed their flight physicals but I never heard anyone complaining about not getting their pay.

Just info for you...stand by for the official word.

I asked the same and was told by several flight docs, pilots and FO's that it was no problem and just get one when you get back. I was and still am a little skeptical but I know plenty of others in the same boat and they have had no issues, you just have to do a long form if you are passed your normal physical month.

I had a similar situation once when I was on active duty on a UN mission. I was told that if there was no flight doc available that your current physical remained valid until you could get to one. I was 4 months overdue and never had a problem with pay, DIFOPS status, etc.

Copy all gents, thanks. It's "taps taps lights out" here so I must go. I appreciate the input.

I think HAL and flash are right, at least according to my memory. Have you looked at the NATOPS section which deals with aeromedical issues?
