Can't beat VF-84/103's skull & crossbones IMHO. . .

If God isn't a Penn State fan, than why is the sky blue and white?

It's a nice improvement from my days with VF-103 (92-94). Sluggers Days - It was a clover with a baseball bat and a jet flying through.

I really like vfa-125's logo....The Rough Raiders

I think they are just a fleet replacement squadron though.

(thanks EA6Bflyr ;) )

i gotta say the Gayest logo has got to be VT-2, the Doer Birds, ... i was embarrassed to wear the patch ... and WTF is a Doer Bird?

I think of the ones I've seen - Fighting 31 with Felix. I've liked them ever since I first saw them at an Air Show at MCAS (then was NAS) Miramar, Ca.

yep ... but for the most part, i thought VT-2 was fair & the majority of the IP's were pretty cool (it's been a couple years since i was there though)

VFA-25 == "Fist of the Fleet"
VFA-125 == "Rough Riders" (http://www.lemoore.navy.mil/vfa-125/)

ohh you know what...i knew that. That was an ugly typo on my part...I'll fix it.

Thanks for the heads up.

BTW...Fist of the Fleet is a cool logo also.

On the subject of the Jolly Rogers logo...am i the only one who thinks it's a dirty rotten shame they had to switch to low-viz paint schemes? I mean black tails w/white skull and crossbones and yellow trim was like <drool>. Now they're all pretty damn generic.

Btw, to current NAs, what's Navy policy on a/c paint? I remember seeing a Hornet w/rather colorful nose art only a few years ago(Bosnian crisis), but I thought nose art was outlawed?

I'm pretty sure only CAG Birds are aloud to have "color". AKA, the Pretty Bird in each Squadron. Any Second Guessers?

sounds correct. In days past (1990's) we had one a/c with the glossy paint and bright color scheme. The rest of the squadron a/c had the low-vis scheme

Same. Our CAG bird (500) had a nice colorful tail. During XMAS time during the 2000 WestPac, all of the Air Wing birds had christmas themes on the tails...The S-3 squadron had a squished Santa on the nose cone...too funny.
