Bottom line - Awesome book. I definitely recommend it for any that has any interest whatsoever in the Navy, aviation, Vietnam, or the Naval Academy. It's been a while since I've read it but I'll try to recap a lil. Starts off with a history of McCain's grandfather and father, two Admirals who went to Annapolis. Then goes into McCain's troublesome years there. Kind of funny, I think all three McCain's finished in the bottom 10 of their respective classes. Talks about his flight training, and then gets into his Vietnam experience - his near death experience on a carrier, his missions, and his 5 year POW experience. Unbelievable what those guys had to endure. I finished the book with the greatest respect for those who fought in Nam, especially the aviators whose planes were downed and were captured, tortured, and in many cases killed by the NV. Any other questions let me know. I think i'm going to have to read it again over xmas break.
