F-4s in CA

Just wondering what the mission is for the QF-4s at pt.magu. How does one get assigned there? By choice? Is lots of previous flight time required? And how long are they going to have F-4s there?

QF-4's are drones better known as targets. They can be automated or a pilot can fly them. There are some reservists that fly them but usually pilots who have experience at the Weapons Test Squadron. The aircraft have extensive maintenance needs due to their age. I doubt that they will be used much longer. They are in pretty bad shape already. Frumby
