Extending Leave

It's probably a longshot, but has anyone heard of possibly extending leave by a few days while ON leave? I'm actually on a hiatus between training, so I'm not particularly vital to my command. Any gouge would be appreciated. My apologies if this thread exists somewhere.

Calling your command and asking would probably be the best way to find out. Had it happen before for people in a fender bender/plane got cancelled for 12 hours/etc coming back from leave.

+1 for calling your command- We can give you all sorts of stories about how to do it....but they could just as quickly tell you to report back on time as planned. Ask them and get the real answer.

I've done it a few times. Just call the CDO/SDO at whatever command you're at and tell him/her why you want to extend leave.
The only hitch would be if your command did a 50% leave policy (half get Christmas and half get New Years) and you're trying to extend into the other leave period.
Worst thing that can happen for asking is they say No.

Agree with all of the above. I had to extend once and all it took was a 3 minute phone call to the command. You will probably need a legit reason though, such as a sick family member, court date, etc.

If you're using your one phone call from the county lock-up to call the command, is that a legit reason?
