EPSQ Q for Intel Os

Are there any guidelines, specifically for Intel applicants, as to how many people to list as contacts in the EPSQ?
Seeing as the EPSQ will be used to secure our clearance and Intel O's must attain TS clearance, should we err on the side of safety by listing more contacts? What have others done? Thanks.

It makes no difference if you're an intel applicant or not. The investigators are not concerned with that. Yea, the EPSQ asks for 3 references who are not relatives. If you have more than that, I would say to go ahead and put them down. If they think it's too many, they'll just not interview the extraneous references.

The EPSQ software asks for what is needed. You will need one from each place you lived, one from each job, immediate family.

By the time your finish with it - they will have enough.

Include only what is asked for in the EPSQ, but ensure that it is as accurate as possible. Unlike a NACLC (National Credit and Local Records Check - the investigation conducted for SECRET eligibility), an SSBI (Single Scope Background Investigation) will actually have investigators contact and physically go to the addresses and contacts that you mention on the EPSQ. So be accurate with your information, you do not need, nor are expected, nor is it desired with the current investigation backlog to include more than what is asked.

Also a good idea to let the people you put down know, or the MIB with a badge can be a little unnerving.

In a few months people will start calling you telling you someone was asking around about you.

Yes and no. In just about every line item, there is a remarks section. It's there for a reason. Use it and put down any amplifying information you may feel is necessary. On the same token, when you finally get interviewed by an OPM investigator, the two of you will go through your SF86 line item by line item just to make sure everything is still up to date and correct. You will have an opportunity then and there to provide more information if necessary. The investigator may or may not ask for more references at that time.
