this is belated, but the dayton airshow this past weekend was phenomenal (although i could've done without the rock concert in the backround while the thunderbirds flew)! sometimes i lose sight of why im pursuing the military....it takes a swift kick from something like that to "re-motivate".
the announcers mentioned that the b-52 is going to see service through 2040! that is unfrieckingbelievable. what an aircraft. it first saw service around 1951, so it will have a service life of nearly a century...just for comparison, that would be like us still flying the b17, and on through 2030! so here's cheers to boeing for making the "grand old warhorse" (unfortunately boeing just laid off 5000 more people- how times have changed).
