I'm considering submitting a 3rd STA-21 package, however I have a few medical concerns.
During an annual PHA, it was discovered that I had a cholesteatoma in my right ear. I had surgery to remove it. Since the surgery I have some hearing loss associated with scar tissue. It has been 6 years since the surgery, but it looks like I may have it again. I'm currently under treatment by a Navy ENT. He stated that they may place a tube in my ear to help with the underlying cause, eustachian tube dysfunction.
Will this disqualify me from any commission options? I'm looking at Special Duty Officer options since I know this will affect aviation.
