I heard talk from some people about the possibility of Congress reinstituting the draft. I just wanted to know if anyone else has heard anything about it. I went to congress.org, where this bill was supposedly found, and could not find it. All I could find is people complaining about how it shouldn't be done, but I could not find the actual bill. I just wanted to know if this was just hear say, or if this was legitimate. Not like they will have to draft me anyway.

Ignore it. They dredge it up every few years, especially when Republicans are in power.

you got a 600RR as your first bike ever? the term 'squid' comes to mind.

During Vietnam the Marines did resort to the draft. I am not sure about previous wars but I think they were all volunteer.

That's not entirely true. The Marines did take men who had been drafted but they were drafted into the Army. After they were drafted they could choose to volunteer for the Marine Corps but I'm pretty sure they never took straight draftees. The Marine Corps has always been an all volunteer force.

interesting fact on the marine-all-volunteer force.

And yes, 600 modern bikes may prove quite dangerous if you've never ridden before. However if you got a good head it may still be there later on (just seriously scratch and with bumps and bruises, lol.) Enjoy! All I've even ridden are gixxers, any word on the new honda 600rr and the new kawasaki lines?

is good to go
Both kawi and honda's new bike RR are completly revolutionary. You probably need to ride the old school bikes compared to these "new" ones to judge for yourself. But ill stop the threads on motorcycles before some one here becomes pissed off. We will defintily discuss bikes some other time.
