disqualifiers for eye exam

My question is in particular for the marine aviation. If your eyesight is not 20/40 or better do you automatically get disqualified, or can you still get approved. for example if you have 20/50 will they disqualify you or will the doctors approve you, or give you the option of getting surgery.???

The military will not pay for PRK unless you are on active duty. If you are seeking an air contract go and get it asap. There's a six month waiting period before you can start training. I had a buddy who did it and it delayed his orders to TBS. Besides, PRK is worth every penny, think of it as an admissions fee.
