DirecTV thoughts

I'll jump on the pro-DirecTV bandwagon. I had it for just over 2 years in Corpus with no problems (even with the thunderstorms). The DVR worked like a champ and I'm really curious to hear more about the linking of the set-top boxes. When I moved to DC, I just cancelled my service and pledged that I was not switching to another provider. There was no hassle or other problems. When I come back to a permanent residence I'll get it again.

We travel full time in our motorhome. I've used Directv for 8 years now and have gotten very good at aiming the dish. If you currently have Directv and have the HD plan you can call up and get the HD service free for 2 years. Check this thread over at DBSTalk.

As far as rain fade, it's gonna happen. Even happens to the cable providers when their satellite feeds are impacted.
