Destin and Santa Rosa Island - Bar/Food Recco's

So I have returned to the Panhandle for a little R&R on Santa Rosa Island/Destin. First time I have been down here since checking out of HT-18 13 years ago!

Could not help but to stop by Florala on the way down - even on a Saturday, a NG CH-47 was sitting on the concrete slap, it's crew lazing on the porch sipping cold cokes. Glad some things have not changed!

So I'm staying down on Santa Rosa Island, on SeaGrove - any food/bar recommendations?

Had my wedding down in Santa Rosa Beach. Asked the locals for the best place to go to eat/hang out and the "Red Bar" came highly recommended.

I didn't get to go (had a flight) but the rest of my family went during their stay. They said there were only a few things on the menu and it was cash only but it was REALLY good. Link below... Wife said the dessert is worth it there too.

Cannot remember the name of the complex but there is a neat upscale mall/food/shopping/art gallery area right off of 98 on the left side when going East towards Santa Rosa Beach. Great place to get out and walk around if you are looking for something to do when it starts to cool off in the evening.


As far as the jellies and algae no clue. They were not down there in May.
