My wife is going to DC in for 20 days in June/July to start attending grad school at Johns Hopkins.

Any advice on a place for her to stay? DC is awfully expensive for hotels. I don't think she can stay at a BOQ without me.

HELP!

Why not?

Which Johns Hopkins campus, Baltimore or DC? Either one might be able to provide you with some options for short term lodging.

She's going to the DC campus, just north of the central part of town.

I'm having her call the Q.

Unfortunately the school isn't terribly helpful with housing - their list of places is very outdated and they don't have any dorm space on their DC campus.

Best bet would probably be student affairs or whatever they call that office there. I imagine if they have a short term class like this every summer they would have some leads on what to do. If that is a bust you might try and call some of the other colleges in town, Georgetown and American come to mind, and see if their dorms are available for summertime occupancy for students.

If all else fails, there is an overpass that I drive by everyday that seems to have a popular lodging spot underneath it. :D

^You think I'm joking, but I traveled the country for two months and only stayed in a hotel one night.

If all else fails, go to the student unions of area schools and search the bulletin boards. There are usually a ton of summer sublease opportunities from students.
