Crazy Video

I don't know of any high-wing general aviation aircraft that are rated for aerobatics. Looks like the pilot of that a/c didn't know what Vne or wing loading was...

There is the Cessna Aerobat and the Citabria. But I agree, probably wing overloading.

That plane was definitely not rated for aerobatics. It's a Chinese plane similiar to but slightly smaller than the Twin Otter. I forget the actual name. I've read about this/seen the video before. He overstressed it doing prohibited manuevers. His wife was the announcer for his act and witnessed the whole thing.

Actually it is a Partenavia, an American company now builds it, but it was once built in Italy. It is a Normal catergory aircraft so a pos 3.2g , neg 1.76g. By the looks of it I would guess that he didn't really pay attention to the lecture on load factor. There is a company that flies one out of an airport in NW MI.

There are a couple Partenavias flying out of Camerillo in Socal too. I thought it was a Harbin Y-12 and that is what I read when I first saw this clip a few years ago. But I think you are right, especially looking at the nose and landing gear..
