Corpus holiday leave

Anyone have gouge on the Christmas/holiday leave policy at Corpus? I am trying to figure out the dates so that I can buy airline tickets. I graduate API Dec. 14 and expect to check in a few days later.

I would call MATSG (I am guessing by location of Q-Town, you are USMC)

Buying tickets without leave papers in hand is a good way to blow $500.

Thanks for the quick reply...MATSG had some "tenative" dates...I was looking for some solid dates from someone down there "in the know." Is there a different leave policy for Marine SNAs?

Depends on if you are in the MATSG pool or if you have classed up and are in the Wing, or with your squadron. And did you call MATSG in Corpus? Here is the duty cell - 361-533-4738. You can also try 361-961-3484.

Both VT-27 and VT-28 have leave periods from end of workday on the 19th to beginning of the workday on January 3rd. I have no idea if that's any different for Marines though.

The signs posted with our leave dates say pretty explicitly that if you aren't on leave you are available to fly, although I don't know if the scheduling will be at the same level it has been.

They told us that if you want to get caught up or do some extra flying then staying over the break for a couple days would be good, but I can't imagine they'd be going full speed.

VT-28 also has a "no negative leave balance" policy so there is no leave debt like other school commands will allow. I'm not sure about VT-27.
