I did a Midshipman cruise on the USS Blue Ridge (basically a gray cruise ship) and it was a bad ass time. All they do is bounce from port to port, and they party their asses off. It may not be the best career job, but it's a good job.

Doesn't mean you can't ask to roll to that assignment. Saves big PCS move bucks so if your timing was right.....

If you WANT to do it, just ask your detailer. Sometimes it can be a hard fill, and if you ask for a job that nobody wants and the only "cost" is to send you through a cat-5 class at HS-10 for a F/H NATOPS check...it can happen.

Better yet. You're in the neighborhood so get acquainted with them so they'll ask for you via placement side of detailing.
