I uninstalled it while troubleshooting database crashes. I also noticed that it was impacting page load times adversely for those that weren't interested in using chat.
Affirm. My suggestion would be to bring back a dedicated chat, just my .02

Thirded. It was easier to keep a page on that chat while checking the forum in other tabs. Cometchat didn't seem to work that well and if you left it for a few minutes, it went TU. </peanut gallery>
