How is aircraft selection done in the coast guard and what are the odds of getting the aircraft you select?

Selection is more simple than any other service. When you arrive at flight school you write down what you want; either helo's or fixed wing. 99 times out of 100 thats what you get. As far as what specific helo...that simply depends on your wish list and where you stationed for you first station. If you get statioined in Miami you will fly 65's.
