Cmdr. Chris "Papa Doc" Joas died July 7 in a plane crash near Lake Tahoe, California.

Damn. I didn't know him, but it seems like everyone from China Lake had a great story to tell about him. I'm sure his newer friends in Fallon are missing him too. Sounded like a great American.
