Can we bring a camera?

Are we allowed to bring cameras to OCS, film or digital? Or is it better to stash those in our cars?

You can bring a nice one if you want, leave it in your car and get to it later on. Obviously you don't leave it out in the room when you go to class or have it during inspection. If you stash it in your locker, for the love of god, don't ever leave you locker unlocked. Technically, if found it's contraband that will get you in trouble, but what will most likely happen is you'll have to report to the office of the Chief or DI that found it and "earn it back". I recommend just getting a disposable once you're there.

In Coast Guard OCS, they considered high value items left out/unlocked as a security violation... and that's not a good thing.

If you take one, like he said, lock it up, leave it in your car, somewhere secure.
