BOQ's Kid Friendly?

I was trying to get a room in the VA Beach area with no luck at any of the Navy Lodges, Minus Norfolk (S$@T Hole). I also checked @ Ft Story's Cape Henry Inn, No luck. If I want to bring my wife and kid, can we all stay in the BOQ for the weekend? Is the atmosphere Family or Crumb Cruncher friendly? My son is 1 years old if it helps any. If not do any of you all have any other fine military lodging facilities in the VA Beach area?

Oceana has two basic rooms. One is a single, which depending on which building, will vary from good enough to crap hole. You definitely want to reserve (if possible) the suites, which are pretty nice. They're a split plan w/ a living room and a bedroom.

Word of warning, the Oceana Q is very busy, so there's a chance they a) won't have room and/or b) won't take a reservation if you're not on orders.

But on the upside, at Oceana the O Club and golf course are right across the road from the Q so you can go get tanked and hit some golf balls while neglecting the wife/munchkin.

And the pool with water park contraptions is just down the street, but that might be a little much for a 1 year old.

BOQ's Kid Friendly?

Let us certainly hope not ....

If they ever are .... "kid friendly" .... I weep for the future of Naval Aviation.

Shouldn't a proper BOQ be a party zone for the BACHELORS after the O'Club kicks them out, and for pregaming before the bar opens?

I stayed at the Point Loma BOQ with wife and two kids...albeit a bit cramped with all of us in two rooms, but inexpensive. And what a view of the channel into/out of SD harbor.

BOQ is four story building under US Flag on sub dry dock and building just to left of that:

Hmm??? When I tried to make a reservation in March they told me all the SD area BQs do not allow kids.

At the BOQ on Little Creek you can have your family & they have suites. There is an Inn on NOB across fr Breezy Point that also allows children, VERY nice for the $$$, can't remember the name.
