I work next door to a company run by 3 former Blues. They are all swabbies, but they are cool nonetheless. 1 of the guys flew F-4's and the other 2 were A-4 Angels.
They said that the team usually has at least one Marine in the group because the current pilots are the ones who pick their own replacements. So in most cases, Marines will pick another Marine and Swabbos will pick another Swab.

Actually 2 of the Blue Angels fighter pilots are from the USMC. All 3 of the C-130 pilots are also from the USMC and 6 fighter pilots are from the Navy.
